Hey there everyone. My name is Tom Spindler and after months looking around on this site have finally joined properly. I am a Set Design Student at Londons Central School of Speech and Drama and am in my 2nd year. Even though my course is theatre design I am dedicated to theme park themeing and design and have structured my course projects around this as much as possible.
Just wanted o quickly say hi to you all and its really great having the chance to contact everyone. I am expecially interested in Halloween/Horror themeing and have been doing this sort of work from a very young age. I have also worked with Thorpe Parks design team on their Halloween Fright Nights and want to work more on these type of events in America especially whether this be interships/work expirience/proffesional work or volunteer work.
Thanks for reading and hope it was of some interest. Will keep checking back on this site as its really interesting hearing from you all.
Thanks.
Tom

Hey tom, nice to "meet" you. I noticed you are interested in haunted attraction design which is what most of my background is. I work for a haunt in North Carolina, US doing the production design and we got ranked #13 in the country last year in hauntworld magazine. Im also doing freelance design work for a few other companies in the US just trying to get my name and portfolio out there. I would really like to see some of your work you did for the theme parks there if you have a link to it. again, nice to meet you and welcome to the boards!

Hey there, thanks for the reply. Your work sounds really interesting, exactly what I want to do. Congrats for becoming 13th in haunted attraction magazine - thats awesome! I dont have a link for the photos but you could most probably check them by tpying in Thorpe Park Fright Nights on Goggle or checking out some of the mazes on youtube. I helped out on the 3D Freak Show and The Freezer.
If its ok wud be great to keep in contact and hear about your work. Cheers.
Have a good christmas.
Tom

Hey Tom -

It's great to hear from you. I hope you'll keep us updated on your progress as your career progresses, as well as offer any insights you may have. We do have Brits that check in from time to time. Probably more lurkers than anything. As for the haunted house thing, if you have questions as well you could probably bounce them off us. I'm probably done 20 of them for Universal and I can give you my opinions on how things should be done. I can't reveal official information, I'm under contract. But still ... it's great to hear from you. A lot of Brits come to Orlando, especially with the cheap flights and the weak dollar. If you come during October, you can catch halloween horror nights. If you do, be sure to catch the Bill and Teds show. It's the best part!

Take care -

Nate
