I know many of you haven't gotten the chance to ride Spaceship Earth after it's renovation yet, and someone finally posted a decent quality video without the youtube distortion.. so here's a good version someone uploded:

http://gallery.sodh.net/travel/disney07/videos/Spaceship_Earth.m4v.html

I've been on it a few times, and it's in "soft opening" until the official launch in February - but I must say i'm a bit dissapointed. while the animatronics look really good and some of the new set dressing and show scenes are nice - the emphasis on the screens at the end seems so random and disjointed from the rest of the attraction. Not to mention, why a Jib-Jab "insert face here" style cartoon? It just doesn't seem to mesh with the rest of the ride in terms of the style, seriousness, or anything.

It doesn't even match the look o the postshow - and that's not even mentioning that the rest of the descent ahs no real scenery, just blakc curtains with fiber optic "stars." It seems very underwhelming to me. What do you think?

I watched most of the video, I thought they were originally going to use Patrick Stewart for the narration but I see they went with Judy Dench. I will miss the Jeremy Irons version though, probably because thats how i first experienced the ride...but at any rate, I am looking forward to seeing it when I go in March. Not until then will I know what I really think about the upgrade.
