Hey everyone, for the past 9 days I have been in Ohio installing a new attraction at a train-themed family entertainment center scheduled to be opening in July. This attraction is a multi-element, multi-seasonal walkthru. There are two separate mazes, one being themed to 19th century London and that will be used for a halloween attraction and also for a Dickens' style "A Christmas Carol" walk thru for the Christmas season. The other side of the attraction houses a variety of funhouse type gags and scares for both summer groups and the halloween season. There is a mirror maze, a chainlink maze, spinning tunnel, etc...just your usual funhouse type stuff. That will be converted over in the winter to a "north pole" experience. I had the privelege to create concept art for this about a year ago and also got to travel up there to help put it all together and I did ALOT of set dressing and scenic painting, those being my favorite part of the whole experience. It was my first 'real' professional attraction that ive been involved in from concept to completion and the whole experience was great. 12-hour days seem like nothing when youre doing what you love. Well you can check out www.entertrainmentjunction.com for more details on it as it develops. Anyways, I just thought Id share this with everyone.

How wonderful! I can't wait to do something like that. How did you get involved?

Well I got introduced to the owner of the company last year after he saw some of my artwork and I immediately got started on some drawings for that job. After I finished that, Ive been working on various projects for them ever since, from CAD work to concept art to installing shows. I just got in there and worked hard, made good relationships, thats what its all about. About your college plans, Just when you think you have it all figured out, your mind will probably change a few times, dont you worry! Im sure anyone else here can agree with that. Just remember never to take 'no' for an answer.

That's great to be able to work on a real project - especially a good one like that. Nice pics on their site. Thanks for posting.
