Here is a ride concept competition, just for fun.

Will be good to see what is submitted. It is open to anyone and to as many projects as you want.

Good site, too.

I thought the same thing about the artwork. It seems that it would only help. I did participate in another longer running contest at themeparkinsider.com and it was all written work only, but some included a little artwork when they could.
The starting point for the design usually is the story, to have a basis for the design, so this may be their emphasis at first. Also, in pitching, along with art to back it up, the premise is put out there first, too.

Any sketches, no matter the ability, help communicate an idea and anyone interested in this business should really start sketching.

But it really makes me think a few of us should get together and combine our talents to make a cool project. Very Happy But that's for another topic...

That would be great. I'd love to see someone do concept art for the Castaway Mountain project I worked on in the Imagineering class - mostly to see if it would all actually fit into the building/mountain.

It is posted in the section on "Post a Project", a little way down (19th down, as of this posting)

I'm going to whittle it down for submission on this new contest. I have put it into other contests, and even did pretty well in a general writing contest with it one time.

They are supposed to be posting results soon. I ended up submitting 4 or 5 ideas, and asked for feedback, too. Waiting to see...

hi
A small panel of judges will select a few entries to be featured on the blog. No limit to number of entries submitted. No age requirements. Private feedback from judges panel will be offered upon request. This contest is not in any way affiliated with The Walt Disney Company or Walt Disney Imagineering. The contest is intended to take place for entertainment purposes only. Concepts will not be considered for further theme park development in any way
