Wow, I just saw the old movie called Mazes and Monsters starring Tom Hank about a group that plays D&D (name changed of course) and goes a bit crazy. Evidently it was made by (or for) a church group to show everyone how 'evil' roleplaying is.

But it was interesting because that is what my future theme park is going to be based on. I was curious as to how many people would want to go to a place where you could explore a dungeon and such. My original plans were of course way out there in size and scope, but I have been making tweaks to the idea since it's inception.

I have two questions for all of you, and have all ready spoken (in writing) to some of you... but here are my questions.

1. For those of you that are somewhat 'in' the business, what routes does one have to take when they think that their idea is reaching the point that it requires 'the next step.'

2. For everyone, without thinking of feasibility issues (kind of like blue sky type thinking) what are the top five or ten things you would want to see in a park that is designed to be a midieval town in a D&D type setting? A partial list is included to get you thinking of what you would and wouldn't see.

Would include:
-numberous dungeons with varying difficulty levels
-full size castle
-combat arena with special fx (like Midieval Times restaurant with a kick)
-games such as those found at renaissance fairs
-food and merchendise of course, but designed to be part of the environment such as a marketplace in town
-much more, but I want to hear all your thoughts
-oh, and my favorite, rat-on-a-stick (yes for eating)

Would NOT include:
-modern rides
-views that would break the illusion (ie no 20 story hotel just outside the front gate)
-many other things that you don't need to worry about in a 'anything-goes' type of question.

Thank you all, take care, and have at it... Luke
