I have an idea for what could possibly be developed into a great ride at Disney (or elsewhere). I have thought through many of the major points and would like to share the idea and the details with someone or some organization in a position to bring the idea to fruition.

I don't wish to pursue a career in the theme park industry, as I'm in a completely different industry. I may be good for just one idea like this in my lifetime, but IMHO, it's spectacular -- I'd love to go on such a ride!

Please enlighten me.. how do I go about proposing this idea to people who develop rides? Do such people take ideas seriously from non-theme park people?

Thanks for any and all info on this.

Brian

The problem isn't whether they would take it seriously or not... The problem is more a legal one. The way I understand it, most entertainment companies don't accept ideas from outside the company because then if they *ever* made a ride or attraction with any concepts that seemed even faintly similar to the one that someone proposed to them, the person who presented the concept could come back and sue, claiming that the idea was stolen from them. It just gets really sticky.

Several other people have asked this question before, I think... I would look through the boards and see if you can find more enlightened (and more hopeful) answers than mine...

For example:
a ride idea

BTW... everyone has some creative ability... more than likely, you have lots of great ideas just waiting for permission to dance across your mind! =)

Good luck in all your dreams...

New Post Re: How Do I Submit A Ride Idea to Disney? Interestinly, when I sent Imageneering a ride idea a few years back (I didn't think they would use it, but I was hoping to get my name in their heads) they did admit to reading it. They gave a genericly positive critique, and the "So you want to be an Imageneer" article.

New Post Re: How Do I Submit A Ride Idea to Disney? I had a similar response as meloncov and I was genuinely suprised... way way way later, about 6 months I got a genuine hand written letter from an imagineer and a so you want to be an imagineer article.

I thought I read on this board though that people will most likely get a stern letter with threats of legal action

New Post Re: Ride Submission I got a pretty fast response (about a month), though I did get the feeling that it was a form letter that was modified slightly.
