I have a couple of questions regarding the Tokyo Disneys version of Pooh's Hunny Hunt. How do they get power to the cars - do they run on batteries or are they more like bumper cars? Also, do they all follow the same pattern, or is there a rando pattern for each car?

New Post RE: Toyko's Hunny Hunt
The paths are programed into the cars; each is different, but not random.

I'm pretty sure they use a power bar, like those on bumper cars. Batteries, as a rule, are not efficeint for something that needs to run all day, every day.

New Post Re: RE: Toyko's Hunny Hunt A lot of rides (especially dark rides) have a "bus bar" (high-power rail) that runs through the ride (I think subways and some monorails have this same system... perhaps that is where it was adapted from). Some parks have them run above the ground, and some have the bus bar run below the main floor level (which is safer for people running the ride...tripping on a bus bar is bad news!). Perhaps the cars have limited battery power for the "dance sequence" and recharge when the hit the bus bar of the main path? Only a ride op or designer could really say the answer to that...
