Nate you mentioned this a while back in another forum and I ran across an article on lineweights and what they can do to enhance drawings. I thought it was a pretty good article....can be found here.

Yeah, that is a good article. I typically keep it simple when drawing and use three line weights.

1. Outlines = heaviest.

2. Details like text on a surface or other "flat" objects on a surface = lightest.

3. Everything else or changes in plane like the front edge of a step = medium.

That generally works pretty well....
