It seems like everyone is oblivious to the whole world of themed environments and attractions outside of Disney.

Is no one interested in the work of say Sea World Adventure Parks or Merlin Studios? Or the work of external companies like Joravision or Sarner?

There is very much interest outside Disney. Much of the info and help on this board comes from those that work at Universal Creative - very high competition to Disney and keeping them on their toes, especially in the last few years.
Also, other design companies - BRC Imagination Arts, Thinkwell, Jack Rouse,...
However, Disney will always still stand out for a number of reasons.

I am definitely interested in the world outside of Disney. I can't say much to parks in Europe, because I have never been there, but I am aware of some of the worldwide parks and their attractions. I am also interested in parks going back to the original 1900's Coney Island attractions. I think that Disney is discussed so often because they come up with a lot of new technologies and types of attractions that are mimicked by parks around the world (some parks have even copied the layout, buildings and ride themes of the "Magic Kingdom"), and Disney also has a high standard of quality to their attractions (as opposed to amusement parks that focus mainly on thrill rides and coasters with a few dark rides mixed in here and there). It is definitely worth discussing the world outside of Disney because there are some award-winning and interesting attractions all over the world Smile
