Hello everyone. My name is Kenneth Rayl and I am a student at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, AZ. Before attending I was born and raised in Orlando, FL. My first job out of high school was a ride operator at ET at Universal Orlando and since worked 5 years at Universal, Disney, Sea World, and Gaylord Palms Resort.

My dream since I was a kid was to entertain, and working in the parks the best currency was not the money I made but the smiles on people’s faces. Seeing happy people around me, kids and families enjoying themselves made me a sort of "Super Hero", and was the best 5 years of my life. I journeyed on to the university to study Game Programming, as video games create enjoyment. I found though it only created temporary enjoyment, I would never see the smiles on people’s faces, and the population that the games are made for is small compared to a theme park.

So here I am, 3 years into school with one semester left designing a park with a friend of mine. It the biggest innovation project the school has seen and one that has many professors and students excited and involved. That would be why I am here, to communicate, learn, and grow to one day see this park built, and to see millions of smiles on people’s faces.

So a big thank you for this resource and I hope to get a chance to talk to many of you as I go forward.

Welcome. Your video game education and experience can easily transfer over to theme park/attraction design work. Look around at some of the past posts and ask new questions, too. Again, welcome.

Would love to see what you're working on. You need to get it online! The best way to document a project online is with a blog, and it's also free!

I am designing the blog now. I am sing WordPress on my site to document, and will be using MediaWiki to keep our documents together, and of course a Dropbox for us to use when we meet up.
