Any thoughts on this one would be appreciated:

Atascadero Mini Golf
And
Interactive Center for Education

Concept

This mini golf course is a walk-through, living history tour of Atascadero and its correlation to California history. It is an ideal place for visits from school groups, families or just hanging out with friends. Time can be focused to a specific educational experience, or guests can stay a while, to play and learn more. The people and times represented are symbolic of those who have come in search of the California dream that is the American dream.

Edward G. Lewis, founder of the community of Atascadero in 1913, is highlighted, and the basis for the storyline of Ed E. Gull, the tour guide. Guideposts along the way give more specific information on each time period - through his eyes as a young bird learning to fly and discovering his surroundings. The story of Ed E. Gull can be found in the “Soaring Higher” bookstore, as a storybook, coloring book, or workbook for classes to use.

Players will find themselves under an oak with the Salinas Indians, as they lived, then on a Franciscan Rancho, in their daily life. Next, they will play through a tent in the early Tent City development, coming out onto a street in the Colony District, with its Craftsman homes. Then they will go through obstacles found in the Printery, the first civic building and heart of news for the newly developing area. Moving on to the centerpiece of Lewis’ planned community, the grand, Italian-Renaissance style City Hall is a beautiful building to play through or around, depending on strategy. The next challenge is the magnificent Carlton Hotel, which represents much change throughout the years. Following along to the nearby Sunken Gardens, with its lively festivals, guests will be amidst the current celebrations of the past as they near the end of their play. The final hole goes around Lake Atascadero, with the zoo, where visiting animals may be displayed, and the Pavilion, where they may compare scores or get more information on what they have learned.

In addition to the mini golf, there is an interactive game and display area with more activities and exhibits on the history of Atascadero and the surrounding areas. Visitors from nearby communities will see their buildings and people included, as they relate to California history. Guests can get a behind the scenes look at the significance of places they may see everyday, and have a greater appreciation for them the next time they go by or into one of these buildings.

The exhibit area also includes the bookstore, with more educational materials, and a snack stand in the “Mission de la Escultura Del Azucar”, with models of missions from the local 4th grade classes on display.

The area is full of old oak trees, portraying what life was like, what it still is, and what lies ahead. Through the interactive displays, all guests – especially kids – will be given a sense of empowerment in being able to live out their dreams, and see how they can purposefully help to create a better future, for themselves and others.

How should I practice golf in an efficient and cheaper way? I could practice golf a couple times a week at a golf course but I want to find a cheaper way to do so. Could I buy a practice kits to help? Have any suggestions?

A regular project for 4th graders, studying California history, is making models of the missions out of sugar cubes - the name is just translated into Spanish.
