The experiential entertainment and museum industries converge as experience industry speaker, author, thought-leader and newest member of the Museums Immersive Network Advisory Board (www.cornwallmuseumspartnership.org.uk) Louis Alfieri, leads a discussion entitled “How to leverage the power of brand storytelling for cultural institutions, heritage tourism, and artainment.” Mr. Alfieri asserts that the power of branding and immersive technologies will transform the museum experience of the future.
“We are at the dawn of a new period in human existence. Faced with challenges great and small, how can we assist cultural institutions in breaking through the fractured transmedia landscape to grow their audience, make a difference in the world, and ensure their financial viability,” said Mr. Alfieri, Principal & Chief Creative Officer at Raven Sun Creative (www.ravensuncreative.com).
Participating in a separate segment entitled “Reimagining Your Assets” will be Tim Madison, Raven Sun Creative’s Senior Writer & Associate Producer. The topic will address cultural institution’s needs to find new ways to make an impact and build their audience.
“Brand storytelling and the repurposing of content to engage new audiences is such a vital topic for museums, cultural institutions, and heritage attractions. To do this meaningfully requires a recombining, reframing, and recontextualizing of what exists to create new experiences and interventions,” said Mr. Madison.
The Museums Immersive Network, which is hosting the free webinar, promotes and shares best practices, new developments, and potential collaborations between museums and immersive technologies. Immersive technology offers the potential to interpret collections and share stories in new, accessible, and interesting ways.
“We hope the Museums Immersive Network will support the establishment of immersive technology more broadly within the sector and boost confidence in working with tech businesses to create new experiences for our communities,” said Amy Shakespeare, Innovation Manager at Cornwall Museums Partnership.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Alfieri has worked with global brands in leading, designing, and building entertainment destinations, immersive media-based attractions, retail locations, cultural sites, and experiential events. A thought-leader within the themed entertainment industry, Mr. Alfieri has been a featured speaker at IAAPA Asia Expo, Casino eGaming Conference, and MAPIC LeisurUp. He’s an author and frequent contributor to Blooloop, Themed Attraction, Attraction Pros and many other publications.
Mr. Madison has written extensively for the location-based entertainment and experiential destination industry. During his time at Raven Sun Creative, Tim has collaborated on projects for clients like Ubisoft, Hersheypark, Lamborghini, Evergrande, Carnival Cruises, Hengdian World Studios, and Dalian Wanda Group. Prior to joining the Raven Sun team, Tim performed story development and show writing for Universal Creative on such award-winning attractions as The Simpsons Ride, Transformers: The Ride-3D, Space Fantasy, and Skull Island: Reign of Kong.
