About Me
My name is Ismael but everyone calls me Izzy. I come from a very supportive and loving family. San Diego native and have been for most of my life. I was obsessed with Rollercoaster Tycoon as a child and now obsessed with the new iteration of Planet Coaster.
My story
I grew up in Chula Vista with SeaWorld being a main visit every weekend. It wasn’t until I was 7 when I went to Disneyland for the first time and was in awe of the completely different world I found myself in. From riding Pirates and the Haunted Mansion to the Matterhorn and Star Tours. The intricacies of the park and the themed lands sparked a love that continued to further grow. My dad introduced me to the world of thrill seeking adventures while my mom introduced me to the stories these lands were telling. And right then at the ripe of 7 I knew this was something I wanted to do with my life. It wasn’t just to design rides and rollercoasters but having a role the theming of the lands and the rides themselves and the stories they would tell. Ultimately I wanted to be able provide that feeling of awe to other people who always dreamed of being part of those worlds. To bring joy and wonder. I didn’t have any faith in myself that I could so I never attempted, however seeing my dad graduate high school at the age of 63 inspired me to do the research and go back to school, it made me realize I held myself back for fear of failure and not realizing I had failed anyway by not trying. Currently I’m working as a property manager for a residential community, and while I don’t hate this job it does not make my heart sing. I would love to be able to wake and say to myself I can wait to get work.
