About Me
I’m a writer from Texas working full-time in a part-time career
My story
I grew up loving theme parks. My family was lucky enough to take a trip to Disney and Universal Studios every few years and I loved frequenting regional parks around Texas or others that were near places where we vacationed. Creativity was something I valued when I was a kid. I loved to read it in books, see it on screen, and experience it at theme parks. It amazed me to see what others were capable of dreaming of and I decided that was what I wanted to do with my life. Now, you might read the next box and see I currently work as a Database Specialist and wonder how that has anything to do with creativity. It doesn’t. That’s why I’m here. I’m constantly doing things outside of work to scratch that creative, storytelling itch I’ve got inside me (it’s honestly the only thing keeping me sane besides my dog), but I want to put that drive into a career that I can actually love and find satisfaction in. Over the past year or so I’ve becomes enamored with the ride design process: watching videos on YouTube and researching articles online. I didn’t even know that Show Writer was a position that existed until recently. It made sense when I thought about it, I just never had. Nor did I ever consider ride design as a possibility for my career until I realized there was a position until I started looking deeper into the process. Only, I’ve struggled to find ways into the industry, which I what I’m hoping this website will help with.
