When I was a kid, I was fascinated by mechanical design. My interests spanned rocket ships, Lego, and trains, but once I discovered roller coasters I was hooked. I poured hours into reading books, scrolling websites, and designing coasters in video games. Most importantly, I made sure that each family road trip included at least one amusement park.
This passion, and a very full high school schedule, propelled me to begin my academic career at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. MIT has been an excellent fit for me, providing an academic challenge and the opportunity to work with many equally passionate individuals. In the mechanical engineering department, I have been able to dive deep into my love for mechanical systems and the design process through problem solving and hands-on projects. My courses built upon my skills in critical thinking, machining, and drafting. Outside my major, I found time to explore computer science and economics.
In my free time I have lead a few student construction projects including a human sized maze and a haunted house escape room. My passions include the aforementioned roller coasters, piano, puzzle hunts, creative video games, math for fun, and well formatted spreadsheets. I also have over 1,000 hours of work in the hospitality industry, a vast majority of which have been in safety sensitive positions.
I am currently seeking an internship for this coming summer. While my skills and experience align most with mechanical engineering, I am also interested in a variety of other fields including web development, economics, and management.
