From Vulcania Apothecary, I present: Project Nemo; A first-of-its-kind automatic bartending robot themed from Jules Verne’s novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was developed by Nathaniel Malmont. Featuring 6 automatic food-safe pumps, a 4k touchscreen, a revolving themed drink menu with a variety of preset cocktails that can be made under 15 seconds, programable sound-effects, nautical music and lighting, a functional on-off lever, a smoke machine (for dramatic glass presentation), and even a Kraken Proximity Detector, Project Nemo showcases not only the future of themed entertainment and dining but also harkens back to the age of wild creation and innovation! This isn’t just some concept art piece nor a far fetch idea: Project Nemo is here and it is ready to serve you on your oceanic journey!
With the technology of today (Ie, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Relay boards, and a bit of coding-wizardry) with the classical design motif of nautical antiques of past, form and function were combined to create the latest in home-made themed attraction technology. I was inspired by the design language of the original Disneyland Submarine Voyage attraction and its nostalgic special effects to turn this project from just a fun piece of concept art into a fully functional attraction. And as Jules Verne once said:
