This is my thesis project for M.F.A. in themed entertainment design at SCAD. This project aims to create a new themed venue by combining various methods to immerse guests, which can be seen in theme parks, cultural experience locations, and lightly themed shopping malls. The story takes place in a fictional village that thrives on a mythical substance. The park reflects the Belgian culture of the time but is not about a specific real place. This park is not only implemented with shopping and dining experiences but also provides opportunities for using themed interactive devices. This new immersive venue consists of two zones. Zone 1 is the downtown which is a place for shopping and dining. It’s filled with stores and restaurants inspired by Belgium culture. It also has areas to take a glimpse of some interactions. Zone 2 is mining, which is filled with several attractions.
Combining these two zones creates a new immersive experience, Curio, where adventure meets curiosity.
