The Aurum Observatory Escape Room
Created by Rosie Warfield
Individual Submission (Years 1-2)
After enrolling in the first of several themed entertainment courses at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I wanted to experiment with show writing and game mechanics for an escape room to begin my educational journey. Drawing inspiration from old-fashioned observatories and academic architecture during the late 1800s, I planned and began designing an immersive escape experience that people of all ages can enjoy! Although my drawing and drafting skills have progressed substantially since my completion of this project, this is the only themed entertainment project that I have worked on that is not currently under NDA or tied to any IPs in the past year. For this particular work, I wanted to experiment with several different themed entertainment roles such as show writing, concept art, master planning, and architectural rendering. Since then, I have found myself more drawn to show set design and conceptual design.
