Most of you probably know Brian Morrow from the theme park world where led the design & engineering for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, overseeing key multimillion-dollar, award-winning projects including the opening of TurtleTrek, roller coasters Manta and Mako, and the first-of-its-kind, fully-themed land, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.
Since 2018, Morrow has put his energy and ideas into his own company — B Morrow Productions (in Orlando), a creative design and production studio specializing in immersive guest experiences, gamification, invention, and production. His clients range from iconic global brands such as Baha Mar Resort, The Franklin Institute, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, The Ritz-Carlton, Gaylord Hotels, and Kennedy Space Center, and numerous zoos including the San Antonio Zoo, Busch Gardens, and ZooTampa at Lowry Park.
How did this award-winning experiential designer wind up on a national show? Morrow said it all started with a LinkedIn message from a production company that he thought was spam. But after a few days of thinking about it, he reached out to learn it was actually a real thing. Brian went through an extensive set of interviews over the phone and zoom and beat out 400 others to become one of the eight contestants on Table Wars, HGTV’s new extreme tabletop and special event design competition series, where he goes head to head with seven of the nation’s most talented designers with expert design legend Martha Stewart as the main judge.
Brian had no experience decorating tables, and wondered why he was scouted for the show, but his international reputation plus more than 20 years experience as an established experiential entertainment project principal, executive producer, and creative director with a clarity of vision and a proven track record of success, made him a perfect fit to represent the theme park design sector.
“I found my passion for theme park and entertainment design at a young age of nine, when I started to build models of rides in my basement,” said Brian. “I launched B Morrow Productions to allow myself creative exposure to a diverse group of clients and projects, and I’m loving being able to hire from the pool of talented Orlando designers and producers.”
So how did Brian clench the Table Wars win? “I used storytelling, special effects, and lighting to bring Martha Stewart and the judges on an immersive journey,” Brian said.
Today, he delights in projects that combine strong storytelling with emotions—to inspire guests to connect to each other, and this philosophy is helping him to connect to the judges on the show. Follow Brian’s Table Wars journey on Instagram and Facebook @BrianMorrowDesigner.
